That’s the pop-up I just got. Great, I know.

So, I haven’t written an update (these are mostly for Leslie) since my employment. And oh, OH, I am very much employed by Little Athens of Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Vasilis (owner) is my new best friend. Spanikopita is my name, bugatsa my game. Stuff like that.

Nothing too crazy has happened on the job at Little Athens, exccept today I witnessed someone being fired (when we really dont’ have room to fire a CHEF). Ive been getting a lot of hefty tips from old men at the bar, which is both unsettling and ego-boosting at the same time. I haven’t had to serve anyone too awkward, although today Claire Shorall and Ian Nash came in. Did a little gyro salad action and called it a day. Vasilis likes me I think, because we have the same religious views: one god concept, lots of equally valid ways to get to that god. Good to know, right? I’ve been bartending a lot. Today I made this woman 3 white russians because she liked them so much. Ohhh skill. Not to mention the white russian is like, my drink. AND I can pour beer on draft like a pro now. Go me. Go. Me.

I work tomorrow from 11 to 8, Faja’s day. It should be really busy. Hopefully I will make some decent dough. Then I must come home and consume ribs to my fathers liking (I have been eating basically vegetarian this entire summer) and have a nice dinnery thing, and then I’ll be on my merry way to hang with some friends. Glorious.

Last night I went down the to Three Rivers Arts Festival to see Jackie Greene. I didn’t realize he (Jackie) is only like 21 or 22. His music is fucking insane. He’s SOO good, and he makes me smile because his bluesy-bluegrass-classic rock style doesn’t seem like it comes from this era– in a very Gillian Welch fashion if I do say so myself. It was worth it, the concert was free, I got kettle corn, and a healthy dose of people-watching. I witnessed a big mom-looking lesbian grind with one that looked sort of like Karrie of Karrie’s Kafe in the way that she resembled a 6 year old boy.

Speaking of Gillian Welch, I heard a rumor that shes going on tour with Bright Eyes, and I’ll totally shit myself if that rumor is true. I can only pray. I think it may have already happened, however, which would be tres sad. TRES, tres sad. Maybe someday I will see the beauty happen.

Other than that, not much has been going on. I’ve been compelled to start designing historically-oriented video games. My favorite idea is called WOMAN: The Odyssey. This game would  be sort of RPG, following the family line of your choice (there might be 3 or 4 families). You start with the great great great grandmother, and travel through her relatives to explore the American woman throughout the 20th century. Each level would be a different era. Example: In the 1950s, you would have to make dinner and clean the house and do all of this intensely hard shit before your husband got home. If not, back to the 1940s, where you would play Rosie the Riveter and manufacture airplanes for WWII. I can’t decide on the 90s, but in the 2000s you would be a lesbian either trying to get married, and then have a child, or a woman trying to get an abortion. HORRIBLE idea. I love it. Jason, if you’re reading this, yes, I jacked that paragraph straight from your email. I think RAILROAD: Underground would be a pretty sweet game too. Escaping north, following the Northern star, finding safehouses. Excellent.

My font just got way small, and now its big again. What the fuck. Alright, I don’t have much to say, except for happy Fathers day tomorrow, all you dads out there. My dad gets to go to the US Open thanks to a certain David Gordon of Orrs Jewlers fame. Go Leslie, David pulled through. Hope Africa is treating you well.

 🙂

One last lazy day until the start of work. Sounds like a movie marathon to me. Still don’t have any stories. David and I smoked hookah. I learned how to play Wii. Lily touched a pee sample– cool, right? But I still don’t have any stories. I DON’T think I got the job at Forever 21, my availability isn’t open enough, what with waitressing and all. so yeah. Poo. Or something. I find out in the next couple of days. Then I think its back to the drawing board, so to speak.

David and I just watched She’s the Man. That’s my explanation of my entrie’s title. I miss Sam Brown more than he knows. I’m thinking about just dropping in on Mary and Hilly and making them love me.

Random thoughts don’t sell. I’ll write again when I have something to say.
